One Week, One Pattern: Day 6

This is the second-to-last day of the “One Week, One Pattern” challenge! I was so excited for it to get here and now it’s almost over!! Isn’t that always the way?

You may recognize today’s top from my post for The Sew Weekly a few weeks ago.

I omitted the button placket (again!!) and the collar and cuffs. I added lace to the sleeve piece before attaching it to the armscye. Sewing this top was sort of a sprint instead of a marathon because it did it all in a few hours after work so I could wear it down to the in-laws’ place for the weekend. I wanted to get pics at their piano like the portrait I based it off of, but it didn’t really work out. Sadface. I hate doing photo shoots when other people are around. I do much better with a self-timer and an empty room.

The Facts
Fabric: Grey cotton broadcloth and lace from my old bedroom curtains
Notions: Nothing
First worn: To the in-laws’ in February
Worn with today: Cardigan from Target, me-made navy skirt, me-made (poorly) black belt, and a pashmina-like scarf from some luggage shop in London
Did today: Went to work, had dinner at my parents’ house, watched the DVR’d Mad Men premier with them.
