One Week, One Pattern: Day 5

May I now present part five (man, this week is going fast!) of “One Week, One Pattern”.

Today’s top has never made an appearance on this blog until now! I submitted it to Made By Rae’s “Spring Top Sew Along” last week but I haven’t actually worn it yet.

I omitted the button placket (again) and used a matching cotton for the collar and sleeve bands. I was inspired by two blouses Lady Sybil and Lady Edith from Downton Abbey have worn a few times. Blogger, The Girl with the Star-Spangled Heart, has a nice round-up of pics of the blouses in action. She also had a go at making a version for herself which I think is awesome. I might do this again too with a silkier fabric for a more dressed-up feel.

The Facts
Fabric: Liberty Marlybone for Westminster Fabrics and cotton broadcloth
Notions: Nothing
First worn: Today!
Worn with today: Cardigan from H&M, grey pants from Old Navy, shoes from Urban Outfitters
Did today: Went to work, worked, drove home, sewed and watched TV.
