One Week, One Pattern: Days 1 & 2

I’ve been a fan of Tilly and the Buttons since I stumbled upon her blog after the London sewing blogger meet-up last year. And I was hooked when I saw her Betty Draper suit/jacket.

So Tilly did this “One Week, One Pattern” thing last year and invited her followers and fellow bloggers to do it again this year.

I wanted to join in the fun of course. While a few patterns came to my mind (McCalls 5591, Stretch & Sew 300), I ultimately decided on Simplicity 2211, or the Lisette “Market” blouse. I made three of these in 2011, and two for the Sew Weekly challenges, and I recently bought three fabrics with this pattern in mind specifically. So here are the first two!

DAY ONE

The Facts
Fabric: Black chiffon(?) mystery fabric from WalMart
Notions: Only thread
First worn: Christmas 2011
Worn with today: Jeans from Target Australia and yellow/black Keffieh
Did today: Hung around the in-laws’ place, got Jeni’s ice cream, went to first home Columbus Crew soccer game with the hubs.

DAY TWO

The Facts
Fabric: Quilter’s Showcase fabric from Jo-Anns
Notions: Four buttons on faux placket
First worn: To work in 2011
Worn with today: Sloppy/distressed American Eagle jeans from 2003-ish that hardly ever go out in public.
Did today: Drove home from C-bus, ate at Bob Evans along the way (pancakes for lunch, don’t mind if I do!), went to the grocery store, did some chores around the apt.
